Chocolate orange Sable cookies. So, we've established that a sable cookie is one tasty (not-beach-bomb reminiscent) cookie. The great thing about these chocolate sable cookies is that the chilled dough will last for months when frozen in an airtight container. Spread chocolate dough on top of orange dough, smoothing as much as possible.

We use a full Terry's chocolate orange to make these insanely delicious cookies. Sable in French means "sandy" — these are a classic French cookie, made out of crumbly chocolate shortbread. To keep them nice and sandy, be extra careful not to overmix the dough. The hint of salt brightens the flavor and underlines the chocolate. For a special holiday treat, sandwich two of these.
