  1. Take mixed lentils (as per your choice), rinse it for couple of times, then add turmeric powder,1cup water with the lentils and pressure cook it for 8-9 whistles or till it cooked properly..
  2. In a heavy bottomed pan heat oil,add garlic cloves, saute it till it become golden brown,then add chopped ginger and asafoetida, again saute it for a while..

  4. Stir it continuously, simmer the dal for 5-6 minutes till you get desired consistency, add chopped coriander leaves and put off the flame..
  5. Heat ghee in a small pan, add cumin seeds and dry red chilli, now it on the cooked dal ; serve hot with steamed basmati rice, roti or naan..
